Sip back and explore Napak in northern Uganda is one of Africa’s richest fossil sites for well preserved Miocene hominoid primates. Recognised by the IUGS as a Geological Heritage Site, Mount Napak preserves volcanic ash layers and palaeosols yielding early apes such as Ugandapithecus and Afropithecus. These fossils reveal a tropical woodland environment over 20 million years ago and make Napak a unique destination.
