 Enjoy a Classic Gin Cocktail 

Even before you think about filling up the ice tray ensure your gin cocktail repertoire impresses your closest friends or when you next host that fun-filled occasion.

Angel Face Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 oz of Gin

  • 1 oz of apricot brandy

  • 1 oz Calvados

 

Assembly

  • Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes. Add all gin, brandy, and calvados. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Astoria Martini

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ oz of dry vermouth

  • ¾ oz London dry gin

  • 2 dashes of orange bitters

  • Use an olive as garnish

 

Assembly

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a coupe and garnish with the olive.

Autumn Fizz

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ oz of gin

  • ½ oz of lemon juice

  • Sugar Syrup

  • Sparkling apple cider

  • Use thyme and apple as a garnish

 

Assembly

Pour gin in a shaker, add lemon juice and sugar syrup, shake and then pour into a high ball glass and top with sparkling cider. Garnish with fresh thyme and an apple slice.

Au Thé Vert (Green Tea Gin)

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ oz of London dry gin

  • ¾ oz of lemon juice

  • ½ tsp. of Bénédictine

  • 1 dash orange flower water

  • 2.5 oz Jasmine tea (Pre-brewed and chilled)

  • Ice cubes

 

Assembly

Brew the Jasmine tea in hot water for 4 minutes. Add cold water and strain into a sterile container and store in the fridge until cold. Add all ingredients to a chilled high ball glass with ice cubes and stir. Garnish with jasmine flowers and a slice of lemon.

Aviation

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ oz of gin

  • 1 ¾ oz of lemon juice

  • 1 ¾ maraschino liqueur

  • ¾ oz of crème de violette

  • Use blueberries and lemon zest to garnish

  • Ice cubes

 

Assembly

Combine the gin, lemon juice, maraschino liqueur, and crème de violette into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Add a dash of chilled water to dilute. Strain into four chilled cocktail glasses and garnish with blueberries and lemon zest.

Bramble

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ of gin

  • 1 oz of fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp. sugar syrup

  • 1 tbsp. blackberry liqueur, such as Crème de mûre

  • Garnish with a lemon slice and fresh blackberries

Assembly

Add gin, lemon juice, and sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until well-chilled. Place crushed ice into a tumbler and pour over the shaken cocktail mixture. Drizzle the Crème de mûre over the top so that it ‘bleeds’ down into the glass. Garnish with your lemon slice and blackberries.

Breakfast Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. marmalade

  • 1 ¾ oz of gin

  • ½ oz of Grand Marnier

  • ½ oz of aperitif wine

  • ½ oz of lemon juice

  • Ice cubes

  • Add a strip of orange zest for garnish

 

Assembly

Place the spoonful of marmalade with ice into a cocktail shaker and stir to dilute. Add the remaining ingredients and shake well. Double strain the cocktail into a Martini Coupe glass. Garnish with orange zest.

Bronx

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • ¼ oz of dry vermouth

  • ¼ oz of sweet vermouth

  • 1 oz fresh orange juice

  • 1 dash orange bitters (optional)

 

Assembly

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Chocolate Negroni

Ingredients

 

  • 1 oz of gin

  • ¾ oz of Punt e Mes

  • ¾ oz of Campari

  • ¼ oz of dark crème de cacao

  • 3 dashes chocolate bitters

  • Use an orange wedge and grated chocolate

 

Assembly

Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass over ice and stir. Strain into a rocks glass or low ball glass over ice and garnish with an orange wedge and grated chocolate.

Corpse Reviver #2

Ingredients

  • 1 oz of gin

  • 1 oz of Cocchi Americano or Lillet Blanc

  • 1 oz of Cointreau

  • 1 oz of fresh lemon juice

  • 1 dash absinthe

  • Use orange peel as a garnish

 

Assembly

Add all ingredients together in an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with orange peel.

 

Fairbank Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz London Dry Gin

  • ¾ oz French Vermouth

  • 2 dashes Crème de Noyaux

  • 1–2 dashes Orange Bitters

 

Assembly

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail stem. Garnish with orange peel or with a cherry.

Fog Cutter

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz of white rum

  • ½ oz of gin

  • ½ oz of brandy

  • 2 oz fresh orange juice

  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice

  • ½ oz of orgeat (almond-flavoured syrup)

  • ½ oz of Amontillado sherry

  • 1 mint sprig

  • Ice

Assembly

Add the white rum, gin, brandy, orange and lemon juices, and orgeat into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake until chilled. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass and float the Amontillado sherry on top. Garnish with the mint sprig.

French 75

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. of lemon juice

  • 1 tsp. of sugar syrup

  • 1 ¾ oz of gin

  • Champagne

  • Ice

  • Lemon zest

Assembly

Add the lemon juice, sugar syrup, and gin into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well until chilled and then strain into a champagne flute. Top with a little champagne, leave to settle as it will bubble up and then fill up with more champagne. Add a twist of lemon zest as a garnish.

Gimlet

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ oz of gin

  • ½ oz of lime juice, freshly squeezed

  • ½ oz of simple syrup

  • Lime wheel as a garnish

 

Assembly

Add the gin, lime juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or a lowball glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Gin Punch

Ingredients

  • Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ London Dry gin ½ oz of Elderflower cordial

  • 2 ¼ of Apple juice

  • 1 oz of fresh lemon juice

  • ¼ oz of fresh lime juice

  • 2 Sprigs of mint or slices of cucumber

  • ¾ oz of Soda water​

 

Assembly

Add the gin, lemon and lime juice, elderflower cordial, and apple juice in a high ball glass. Top with soda water and garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of cucumber.

Gin & Tonic

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • 4 to 5​ oz of tonic water

  • Ice cubes

  • Garnish with a lime wedge

 

Assembly

Using a highball glass fill with ice cubes. Pour the gin, then top with tonic and gently stir so as not to lose the bubbles of carbonation. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Hanky-Panky

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz of gin

  • 1 ½ oz of sweet vermouth

  • 2 dashes Fernet-Branca

  • Garnish with an orange twist

  • Mixing Glass

  • Ice

 

Assembly

Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

House Gin Fizz

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • 1 oz of lemon juice, freshly squeezed

  • ¾ oz of simple syrup

  • 1 egg white

  • 1 oz of Club soda (to top)

 

Assembly

Pour the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white into a cocktail shaker and dry-shake (without ice) for about 10-15 seconds. Then add ice cubes and shake until chilled. Double-strain into a chilled Collins glass and top with club soda.

John Tom Collins

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Old Tom Gin or London Dry gin

  • 1 oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed

  • 1/2 oz simple syrup

  • 3 oz Club soda

  • Use lemon or orange wheel or maraschino cherry for garnish

 

Assembly

Combine the gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a Collins glass. Fill with ice, top with club soda, and stir. Garnish with a lemon or orange wheel or maraschino cherry. Serve.

Jasmine

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz of Gin

  • ¼ oz of Campari

  • ¼ oz of Orange liqueur

  • ¾ oz of Fresh lemon juice

  • Garnish with a twist of lemon

Assembly

Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Monkey Gland

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • 1 oz of orange juice

  • ¼ oz of grenadine

  • Dash of absinthe

  • Garnish with a slice of orange

  • Ice cubes

 

Assembly

Coat the inside of a coupe or martini glass or champagne saucer glass with a dash of absinthe and pour out any surplus. Pour the gin, orange juice, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes and shake until chilled. Use a cocktail strainer to pour the drink into your absinthe-coated glass. Garnish with a twist of orange zest.

Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz dry gin

  • ¾ oz of good dry vermouth

  • Lemon twist or olives

 

Assembly

Chill a Martini glass. Combine and stir the gin, dry vermouth, and a little ice together or put them in a cocktail shaker to combine until chilled. Serve with an olive on a cocktail stick or a twist of lemon peel.

Negroni

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz gin

  • 1 oz of Campari

  • 1 oz of Sweet Vermouth

  • Use an orange peel to garnish

 

Assembly

Use an old-fashioned glass or lowball glass filled with ice. Combine and stir the gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari to a mixing glass filled with ice until chilled. Strain into the old fashioned glass filled with large ice cubes. Serve with an orange peel as garnish.

The French Pearl

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • ½ of Pastis

  • ¾ oz of Fresh Lime Juice

  • ¾ oz of Simple Syrup

  • Garnish with mint leaves

 

Assembly

Gently muddle the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add all the ingredients plus ice and shake until chilled. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.

Pegu Club

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • ¾ oz of orange curaçao

  • ½ oz of fresh lime juice

  • 1 dash orange bitters

  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

  • Ice

 

Assembly

Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Ramos Gin Fizz

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • ¾ oz of simple syrup

  • ½ oz of heavy cream

  • ½ oz of lemon juice, freshly squeezed

  • ½ oz of lime juice, freshly squeezed

  • 3 dashes orange flower water

  • 1 fresh egg white

  • Top off with Club soda

 

Assembly

Add the gin, simple syrup, heavy cream, lemon and lime juices, orange flower water, and egg white into a cocktail shaker and dry-shake (without ice) vigorously for about 10 seconds. Add ice and shake for at least 15 seconds, until chilled. Strain into a Collins glass. Pour club soda back and forth between the empty halves of the shaker tins to pick up any residual cream and egg white, then use that to top the drink. Note: There is precautionary advice regarding the consumption of raw eggs that may be contaminated with salmonella.

Salty Dog

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • 3 oz of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice (white or pink)

  • salt

  • Garnish with a slice/wedge of grapefruit

 

Assembly

Rub the edge of a tall glass with a piece of grapefruit, then dip the edge of the glass into some salt. Add the gin and grapefruit juice, stir well, then add ice to fill. Fix a small slice of grapefruit to the edge of the glass as a garnish.

 

Silver Fizz

Ingredients

  • 2 oz London dry gin

  • 1 oz Lemon juice

  • 1 tsp. superfine sugar

  • 1 egg white

  • Club soda

  • Ice

 

Assembly

Add all ingredients except club soda into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a Collins glass and fill up with club soda. Serve with a stirring rod.

Singapore Sling

Ingredients

  • ¾ oz of London Dry Gin

  • ¾ oz of cherry brandy

  • ¾ oz Benedictine

  • Ice to serve

  • Angostura bitters

  • 1 ¾ pineapple juice

  • ¾ oz of Lime juice

  • Sparkling water to top the drink

  • Garnish with fresh pineapple and a cocktail cherry

Assembly

Pour the gin, cherry brandy, and Benedictine into a mixing glass or a jug. Add the ice and Angostura bitters. Stir well until chilled. Pour the mix into a tall glass, then add the pineapple juice and lime juice and stir gently. Top up with sparkling water and garnish.

Sloe Gin Fizz

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz of sloe gin

  • 1 oz of lemon juice, freshly squeezed

  • ¾ oz of simple syrup

  • Club soda, to top

  • Use a lemon wedge and cherry for garnish

Assembly

Add the sloe gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake until chilled. Use a highball or Collins glass filled with ice, and strain the contents of the shaker into the glass. Top with the club soda. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a cherry.

South Side Cocktail

Ingredients

2 oz of Gin

1 oz of fresh lemon juice

5 Mint leaves

1 oz of simple syrup

Use a mint sprig and lemon twist as a garnish

Assembly

Gently muddle the mint and lemon inside a cocktail shaker. Add ice and the remaining ingredients and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a mint sprig.

Straits Sling

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • ½ oz of kirsch

  • ½ oz of Bénédictine

  • 2 dashes of orange bitters

  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters

  • 1 ½ oz of chilled club soda

  • ¼ of an orange wheel

  • 1 brandied cherry

  • Ice

Assembly

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the gin, kirsch, Bénédictine and both bitters and shake well until chilled. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Stir in the chilled club soda and garnish with the orange wheel quarter and the brandied cherry.

The Clover Club

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of gin

  • ½ oz of lemon juice, freshly squeezed

  • ½ oz raspberry syrup

  • 1 egg white

  • Use 3 raspberries to garnish

 

Assembly

Add the gin, egg white, lemon juice, and raspberry syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with 3 speared raspberries.

 

Making raspberry syrup: Add 1 cup sugar and a ½ cup water to a pot and stir over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Bring heat to low, add a ½ cup fresh raspberries mash to a pulp. Strain to remove the berry’s tiny seeds. Optionally, add ½ oz vodka as a preservative and put it in the fridge until ready for use.

The Ford Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 oz of gin

  • 1 oz of dry vermouth

  • ¼ oz of Bénédictine

  • 3 dashes of orange bitters

  • Use orange zest as garnish

Assembly

Add all the ingredients over ice into a mixing glass and stir for about 10-15 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with orange zest.

Twentieth Century Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz of gin

  • ½ oz of Lillet Blanc

  • ½ oz of White crème de cacao

  • 3/4 oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • Use a lemon twist as a garnish

Assembly

Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled for about 15 seconds. Fine-strain into a chilled coupe, and top with a lemon twist as garnish.

Vesper

Ingredients

  • 3 oz of gin

  • 1 oz of vodka

  • ½ oz Lillet blanc aperitif

  • Use a lemon twist as a garnish

Assembly

Add the gin, vodka, and Lillet blanc into a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Express the oils from a lemon twist over the drink, rub the twist along the rim of the glass and drop it into the cocktail.

White Lady

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ oz of gin

  • ¾ oz of triple sec

  • ¾ oz of lemon juice

  • 2 tsp. sugar syrup

  • ½ egg white (optional)

  • Use lemon zest twists as a garnish

  • Ice

Assembly

Pour the gin, triple sec, lemon juice, sugar syrup, egg white (if using), and ice into a cocktail shaker and shake until chilled. Strain the mixture and discard the ice and return the drink to the cocktail shaker and shake again until the egg white is frothy. Pour into a coupe glass and garnish with a twist of lemon zest to serve.

The Wibble

Ingredients

  • 1 oz of London Dry Gin

  • 1 oz of Sloe Gin 

  • 1 oz of Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice

  • ¼ of Lemon Juice

  • ¼ of Creme de Mure

  • 2 dashes of simple sugar syrup

  • Use a lemon slice for garnish

  • Ice

Assembly

Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well until chilled and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of lemon.
