The Devon Farm Shops Where You Can Discover Fossil Coast Gin

Updated: Oct 26, 2021

Fossil Coast Gin has been described as among one of Devon and Dorset's “rarest finds” along the Jurassic Coastline. Our expressions of gins are only available in a number of handpicked retailers and farms shops.

Leading up to Christmas we can share with you which Devon farms shops you can discover your very own bottle of deliciousness complimenting the very best in other locally sourced, seasonal, and homemade produce.

Our farm shop partners are known for being knowledgeable, helpful, and providing efficient service, good quality food, and drink with low 'food miles'. The word “local” is not a buzzword to us but rather we believe that one of the best ways of supporting "local" is to act locally and supply our quintessentially British spirits to farm shops.

Greendale Farm Shop

The Greendale Farm Shop is a wonderful location only a few miles east heading out of Exeter on the A3052 Sidmouth Road. Open 7 days a week from 08:00am until late not only can you browse and buy you can also taste local produce for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Greendale Cafe and Restaurant. The folk at the Greendale Farm Shop have farming in their blood with more than five generations of the family either growing produce or catching fresh fish from their fleet of boats off the Devon coast.

Powderham Castle Farm Shop

The Powderham Castle Farm Shop is located at the entrance of the Powderham Castle Estate on the western side of Exe Estuary. The deer park has spectacular views looking across to Topsham and is south of Exeter heading towards the seaside towns of Starcross and Dawlish. Grow-Magazine described the farm shop as, “A veritable grotto of goodness, it has some of the finest local food, drink, and homeware that money can buy served with a beautiful mixture of traditional values and modern customer-focus”. From the moment you enter the farm shop you just know and appreciate that the estate has food and drink woven into its DNA.

This year (2021) was the 10th Anniversary Powderham Food Festival held in early October. This event also marked the first food festival attended by Fossil Coast Gin. It was a great success and our customers provided us with the inspiration to invest heavily in attending a number of Food Festivals in 2022 along the Jurassic Coast.

Combe Farm Shop

Among the more recent Farm Shops is the Combe Farm Shop located in Gittisham near Honiton and is part of the 4,000-acre Combe Estate owned by the Marker family. The estate dates back to the Norman Conquest. The Combe Estate features in the Doomsday Book where it is spelled ‘Cwm’ in the Welsh way. The farm shop is open 7 days a week and sells a selection of locally sourced produce from the Estate farmland and the surrounding area, the Team wholeheartedly believes in supporting Devon farmers and independent producers.

Occombe Farm Shop

Occombe Farm Shop is owned and managed by the Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust (TCCT) whose mission is to, “protect land, conserve nature and strengthen the bonds between people and the natural world of Torbay”. Located in the picturesque area of Preston near Paignton off the A380 Hellevoetsluis Way roundabout. The Occombe Farm Shop fabulously showcases the very best in local and regional produce the West Country has to offer.
